Frequently asked questions

How do I order flowers?

The easiest way to order flowers is to select an option on our secure, online shop. www.bowriverblooms.com We have both pickup and fee-based delivery options available.

Our bouquet options are standardardized and we have a minimum order. However, you can "upsize" any bouquet just by sending us a quick note by email and we will take care of the order for you at bowriverblooms@gmail.com.

Keep in mind we are a seasonal flower market and are closed for fresh flower sales from November until February when our Tulips are ready.

What is a bouquet subscription?

This just means you will receive your flowers regularly. One per week or once per month, or however we set up the subscription. We can even set up once a year so you'll never miss a special day like Mom's birthday or an anniversary again!

Why should I order a subscription? Can't I just get flowers whenever I want them?

Of course, you can order flowers whenever you want them, provided they are in season. Remember, we do not use imported flowers, only those we grow ourselves.

The best reason to order your flowers by collection (or by subscription) is that you are guaranteed to have your flowers each week.  When you order a collection, you are guaranteed flowers for each week for the duration. Some weeks throughout the season, we do have spare flowers which are made available on Saturdays during the open market, but they are never guaranteed and cannot be reserved.

When will my subscription start?

Each flower collection (or subscription) has a specific time frame as described in the listing. They are all seasonal, late Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall. If you would like to have a full year of flowers then simply order one of each.

All communication will be by email so make sure your email address is correct during checkout. We aim to meet the anticipated dates but of course, we have to let Mother Nature be in charge.  Sometimes we might be delayed or ahead of schedule by a week or two.

What if I go on vacation during my subscription, or I'm not home to receive my flowers?

You can make one change to your regular schedule throughout the duration of your subscription.

For example, if you order a Summer subscription, but you will be away on vacation during one of the weeks, let us know the week before and we will cancel that week's order and extend the subscription by one week.

If you are away from home during your delivery day but will be back soon, just leave a pickle jar, small bucket, or other container of water at your door and we'll leave your flowers there for you. You don't need to be home to receive your bouquet!

What if I miss my pick-up window? Can I still get my flowers?

Flowers will be held for 24 hours from your regular pickup window. Any flowers left after that time will be forfeited and then donated to 1 of the 3 nearby senior's homes. We do this to ensure you receive the freshest possible flowers.

How can I make my flowers last longer?

Every bouquet arrives with a special Bow River Blooms care card with tips to get the most out of your flowers.  Because our flowers are freshly cut to order, we don't need to use flower food packets, so you won't find those tucked into your flowers.

Do flowers come in a vase?

Our hand-tied flower bouquets arrive wrapped in our signature paper and twine and are ready to be placed into your vessel of choice. We do have a beautiful, Bow River Blooms exclusive vase available**, which can be added to your first bouquet, but it is not included in your subscription.

**Our vases are currently sold out. Our new shipment is scheduled to arrive in time for Valentine/Galentine's Day delivery.

Can I just buy a single bouquet?
