About Bow River Blooms

Bow River Blooms is a small, urban flower farm and bespoke floral studio based in Calgary — one of the city's favorite seasonal fresh flower markets.

We grow flowers not just for beauty, but for meaning — celebrating milestones, everyday moments, and the quiet in-between. Every bloom is started from seed right here through Calgary's long winter and cut at its peak from March through October.

Our South Calgary garden is a certified wildlife habitat, farmed without synthetic pesticides, herbicides, or fertilizers. Our soil is fed with organic compost and vermicompost from our own in-house worm farm, and we start our seedlings using soil blocking instead of plastic containers — so there's less waste from seed to bloom.

A note from the grower: I founded Bow River Blooms out of a deep respect for the land and the changing seasons — and I still grow every flower I design with, right here in the garden.

What's available is shaped by weather, the season, and timing, along with the realities of a northern growing season. This isn't always the easiest way to grow, but it's the most honest — and it means every bloom you get is chosen for what thrives here, not shipped in from somewhere it doesn't belong. Locally grown flowers also last longer and smell better than what you'll find imported at the grocery store.
