Sale Sold out

Hi there, welcome!

Sale dates will be announced soon!

Fall Fire Sale - planning for the end of October if the weather holds. All tubers are sold early, at a discount, as the buyer takes on storage responsibility. $10.50 for all varieties.

Regular season tuber sale in late winter to prepare for early spring shipping/pick up.

Stock is updated as the tubers are dug, cleaned, and inspected.

Dahlias are sold as a single tuber (sometimes they are a small clump) with at least one verified eye. All have been grown by me over the past 5 or more seasons while I built up my stock.

Careful sanitation protocols are followed while dividing tubers. Cutting tools are sanitized between clumps. Clumps are also visually inspected for signs of leafy and crown gall. However, disease and sickness may take several years to manifest, so it is impossible to determine where or when a dahlia may have become infected. I will not knowingly sell something that is not visually healthy. I do not test for virus.

Not all of the photos are mine.

Shipping is flat rate within Canada for $20. 10-15 tubers should comfortably fit inside each box. Fingers crossed for no Canada Post strike.

Shipping will start around April 15, but will be adjusted if the weather is unfavorable.

Locals may pick up on Saturday mornings if desired, beginning March 29. Please email me to request this: bowriverblooms@gmail.com, and remember to include your order number.

Thank you for shopping here and supporting my small business.

Bow River Blooms is a small urban flower farm in Calgary. We grow a carefully curated variety of specialty flowers that we cut at their peak for you to enjoy in your home or office space.

Our South Calgary garden is a certified wildlife habitat, and we are diligent in our practices to avoid plastics and synthetic chemicals. We start most of our flowers from seeds and use a process called soil blocking to eliminate the use of flimsy plastic containers. Our soil is fed with organic compost and vermicompost from our in-house worm farm.

Please enjoy browsing our flower and gift collections and let us know if you have any questions. Follow us on Instagram or Facebook where we post regular updates to our shop, behind the scenes along with floral availability: @bowriverblooms.
